Did you know? The University of Texas was the first university in the nation to offer a degree in Petroleum Land Management. By offering these certificate programs through PETEX, we’re continuing that great tradition and helping today’s professionals excel in their careers.

What’s New & What’s the Same

I will still teach the courses—and introduce some new and exciting topics for the UT curriculum! You’ll get the same practical, real-world knowledge I’ve always delivered, with fresh content to help you thrive in today’s evolving industry.

If you are a current student with Land Training, you may transition to the PETEX program or continue with our direct program on Land Training. Any previously completed modules will be transferred, allowing you to continue pursuing your certificate. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

Our October modules kick back around with Module 1, so it’s a perfect time to start your journey with one of our programs. Module 1 topics include:

More Industry Updates

It’s been a busy fall!

Did you know that only 10% of baby boomers remain in our industry? That means it’s more important than ever to prepare the next generation. Take training, attend conferences, and recruit folks into our industry.
I attended the NALTA Conference and the NADOA Conference, where I connected with numerous professionals eager to train and met many former students. Even prouder: I loved cheering some of them on as they took to the stage to share their insights and journeys.
Coming up: I’ll be speaking at the Los Angeles Association of Professional Landmen in San Luis Obispo, CA. My talk? Rigged for Success: Ethics for Landmen. If you are in the area, make sure to say hello. And, if not, expect a speech recap in an upcoming blog from me.
